Public Consultation on Proposed Good Warehousing Practices

Target Audience: Food-related Industry Partners

The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) of Singapore is seeking industry feedback on the draft “Good Warehousing Practices”. One of AVA’s missions is to ensure a resilient supply of safe food through a robust food safety net.

2 AVA will be implementing a programme to register all food storage warehouses. After the registration, AVA will conduct surveys and food safety advisory workshops for warehouse operators to encourage food safety self awareness and ensure food safety at the storage premises. The database of warehouses will also enhance food traceability and enable AVA to promptly notify affected warehouses and to conduct investigations in the event of a food borne disease outbreak. The attached draft “Good Warehousing Practices” paper details the general guidelines by which food storage warehouse operators will be encouraged to follow. It is envisaged that the paper provides a good reference relevant in Singapore’s context for the industry to adopt.
